Who we are
We are an expression of Circle of Hope in the Philly metro. Over our first 5 years and three albums, we experimented with collaboration, technique, and discovering our voice. We operate out of a studio in one of the Circle of Hope sites to serve, train, equip, and teach.

We are experimenting with a missional process of recording and distributing worship music as a tool for training leaders in our church, gifting The Body with music that helps us connect with God, and gets our church “out there” in new ways. As part of a 501(c)3 non-profit, we don’t sell anything but offer the music digitally for a donation of your choosing.

What we trying to do
“Light the Way” is a response to the growing cynicism, fear, and alienation during conflictual times in the United States. We’re hoping to contribute courage and strength to those working for God’s cause - through peacemaking, solidarity, working for justice, and forming spiritual community. In the midst of good work during difficult moments, God continually offers us joy.

The joy that permeates these songs is not ignorant of suffering, injustice, and oppression; nor does it seek to invalidate anger, anxiety, fear, or frustration. We live during days of perpetual pre-emptive war, transnational corporations profiting during disasters, extraction industries trivializing Indigenous sovereignty and ecological health, socially acceptable homophobia, revitalized misogyny, and the emboldening of overt white supremacy in word, deed, and public policy. Alienation, anxiety, screen addiction, and hopelessness are passed around easier than the flu. Joy is not merely a feeling to replace other feelings, it is a gift. God offers joy as strength to live into our fullest selves, to live into our deepest held convictions, and to form inclusive and alternative community to the status quo.

For this record, we hope it’s something that the listener takes with them. It’s an auditory and spiritual reminder that you are part of a beautiful thing God is doing. The songs can tune your heart to sing songs of thanksgiving, hope, and redemption. We hope it encourages you.
