We are trying to stay connected during this time of isolation. While we can't be together to worship, we can still connect virtually. We put out a call in our community to contribute to this song with a voice memo and received 40 voices to add to the track! This song was written in our community during Lent 2011 and is especially timely right now.

Moses says those words, "The Lord will fight for you; you need only be still" to the Hebrew people when they are stuck up against the impossible situation of the Red Sea in front of them and Pharaoh's army behind them. They are waiting very anxiously at the edge of the sea, afraid and doubting God's provision. They need those truthful words of hope and comfort.

But then God turns to Moses and essentially asks, "Why are you waiting on me to do this? You can do this. Just raise your staff, and divide the water so the people can move on. I'll take care of Pharaoh's army behind you." Moses raises his staff and a strong wind from the Lord comes makes a dry path through the water all night long so the people can cross. They move through a wall of water on either side of them! And the angel of God moves to the back of the crew to protect them from the oncoming Egyptian army. When they reach the other side, they sing a song of praise to the Lord.

God wanted to empower Moses to take action in faith and partnership with God. What will it look like for us to move through and forward in this time of waiting?
